Live Deeply
"The MYSTERY of deep living is that we become Life itself." ~MarkNepo
I have known myself as a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none type of person. I know enough to do "just enough" to get through a job, a conversation, a project... Life! I'm a quick learner who processes information fast and understands my resources for anything I might need to research. It's exciting and fast-paced and, probably, hints a bit at FOMO - fear of missing out! Its allowed me to take in a wide expanse of knowledge for enjoyment.
Recently, I took notice of a local photographer on Instagram that only photographs Holy Hill... well, mostly only. ONE subject over and over through 4 seasons, morning and evening with either his camera or his drone. Previously I would have dismissed that as boring. Yet during this Pandemic time I've been fascinated with discovering my own "backyard"; digging deep into the richness that surrounds me right here, right where I am present.
Three times per week I walk the same segment of the National Ice Age Trail with my dog, Bailey. Sometimes we go a little bit farther, other days a little shorter. Either way, each day is different. The weather is different. My mood is different. The landscape is different. My reflections are different... all along the same trail!
I've had a long term relationship with the MOON, too; following its phases, learning about when & where it rises (and sets), and just the simplicity of enjoying Her bright light on a clear night... or seeing Her peek through the daytime sky. Catching a glimpse of the MOON delights me. Breathing Her in nourishes my soul and constant learning stimulates my mind.
When we can go deeper into Life we can appreciate the intricacies of that ONE thing! When we go deeper into Life we can connect to the similarities that subject embodies for us. When we go deeper into Life WONDER opens up and reveals Herself. Then, when we go deeper into Life we realize we are Life itself!
