WONDER

I've been rethinking WONDER since Patrick Lencioni's The Six Types of Working Genius. 
WONDER is the first gear of Working Genius that drives the other five. However, I'm more interested in how WONDER shows up in our own lives and drives our engagement in the world. 

🌟 Openness & Curiosity: there are many things written on openness and curiosity from different disciplines; the biggest being able to suspend judgement and ask questions to gain understanding. Your experience is what you agree to tend to… the most difficult being Radical Acceptance for what is shared with you and what shows up within you.

     ❔WONDER stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system by disrupting our default pattern of reaction. what surprises & delights you? when do you suspend bias? how do you practice intelligent naïveté?

🌟 Bewilderment & Hope: bewilderment is the disruptive factor in WONDER; it's a noticing within that we don't understand something and may need to "stand under" that not knowing. As long as we don't armor up, we can tap into what disturbs us and allow it to guide us into the questions and the path that leads to hope - the light of another possibility that sits on a horizon we didn't know exists. 

     ❔WONDER isn’t only a facet of optimism but also melancholy.  where have you been resilient in your life? what has invited to look for hope? when do you notice WONDER?

🌟 Connection & Admiration: here is the magic! The ability to meet someone where they're at and stand in awe of their perspective and thoughts and feelings. This is how we hold one another in commUNITY as an individual part of the larger whole.

     ❔when have felt tied to another in conversation because you have allowed yourself to be curious? at what times has pride swelled for another because of their individual pursuits? notice when you feel disconnected… would you rather be “right” or in relationship?
